Objections to the new housing 0

Posted on June 30, 2011 by thedaddy

As you know we recently posted about the planning permission for the new housing development in replacement for the Wardle Story factory, it appears this has come under fire not necessarily by the residents of Beckside but by the people who it affects the most the residents of Shuttleworth Street and School Lane who will have all the traffic problems.

Beckside Day Trip?? 0

Posted on May 23, 2011 by Big Phil

Calling all Becksiders!!

Fancy a fun day out to Alton Towers?? I know there’s a couple of takers for this trip but we need numbers and dates etc…

We really want to be going during school time (so its quiet) so childcare may be required (unless they come with?)

Let me know if anyone is up for it (bigphil@becksidemassive.co.uk) with the number of interested parties from your number!

Peace,

BigPhil

Beckside Grows Bigger 1

Posted on May 19, 2011 by thedaddy

Ive no doubt you have all received your letters about the planning application by Barnfield Construction for the new housing where the Wardle Story factory currently lies. This is good news for my garden as the poor thing never gets and sunlight.

The current proposal is actually for two sites it appears. One to the right of the beck with access from Shuttleworth street, the second to the left with access down old lane.  Its a big chunk of housing 74 plots in all which is going to lead to an increase in traffic down those two roads especially old lane as i think most of the housing is down there.

Beckside Massive goes global. 0

Posted on May 18, 2011 by thedaddy

Well the internet global right? For those becksiders who want their own email address please contact thedaddy@becksidemassive.co.uk with the name of the email address you want (before the @ sign) and we will hook you up with your very own beckside email address.

Many more changes to be made, hopefully we can expand this site into a community base (read place to rant and complain)
